We spent several months in Bali with our daughter, when she was barely 1 year old. known for its breathtaking landscapes, serene beaches, and vibrant culture, is a fantastic destination for families traveling with young children. Whether you’re visiting with a baby or an adventurous toddler, Bali offers a wealth of activities that cater to little explorers while ensuring a fun and relaxing experience for parents.
If you want to understand what to prepare yourself for when you travel with a young child in Bali, I wrote an honest article about my experience as a mom living in Bali with a 1 year old.

1. Explore Bali Bird Park
Introduce your little one to a world of colorful birds at Bali Bird Park. With interactive feeding sessions and close-up encounters with tropical birds, it’s an educational and engaging experience for young children.
2. Relax at Sanur Beach
This was our most favourite thing to do! Sanur Beach is perfect for families due to its calm, shallow waters and gentle waves. Let your toddler splash safely while you relax on the soft sand.
3. Have breakfast with the Orangutans in Bali Zoo.
Yes you heard it right, you can enjoy a breakfast with the orangutans in Bali Zoo! Bali Zoo also offers a kid-friendly experience with its Mini Safari, where toddlers can interact with rabbits, deer, and baby animals in a safe environment.
4. Discover the Monkey Forest in Ubud
While older kids may find it more thrilling, toddlers will enjoy spotting the monkeys swinging from trees. Be sure to keep snacks hidden, as the monkeys can be mischievous!
5. Splash at Waterbom Bali
Waterbom Bali has a designated kids’ area with shallow pools, gentle slides, and a shaded splash zone that is perfect for toddlers.
6. Take a Family Walk at Campuhan Ridge Walk
For a stroller-friendly adventure, head to Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud. Enjoy the scenic views of lush rice terraces and let your toddler explore nature at their own pace.
7. Visit Bali Equestrian Centre
If your toddler loves animals, they can enjoy pony rides or watch the gentle horses at Bali Equestrian Centre, a safe and fun experience.
8. Take a Traditional Balinese Dance Class
Some cultural centers in Ubud offer kid-friendly dance classes where toddlers can learn simple Balinese dance moves in a fun and interactive way. You can check some dance classes here.
9. Visit the Bali Butterfly Park
Located in Tabanan, the Bali Butterfly Park is a magical experience for little ones. They can watch butterflies up close and explore the small but charming garden.

This was our most favourite activity as a family, when we were staying in Ubud! A stroller-friendly path at Tegallalang allows families to take in the scenic beauty of Bali’s rice terraces while letting toddlers explore safely.
Overall, we had a wonderful time with our young daughter in Bali. Generally, the island is very friendly to young children, and I have no doubt, that every family would have a wonderful experience, too.
